As Connex Technology, this company had many name competitors, including another Connext Technology, Conexant, Connex transportation company, and Connex credit union. Under new management, it was focusing on providing digital video technology to television manufacturers. BrightScale—a twist on “grayscale,” an optical term referring to a spectrum range from white to black—emphasizes the color-perception advantages in the company’s digital array. Wordworking developed the name, facilitated transfer of BrightScale.com from a third party, and wrote the three-word branding messages on the web site. |

“Working with Nancy is always fun, efficient and enlightening. As we worked through the naming process, we not only set parameters for a new name, we also learned the different perceptions among our marketing people. The process enlightened our positioning and our corporate image and helped improve morale. I highly recommend Wordworking for both naming and message refinement.” —Dave Corbin, chief executive officer |
