Inside the Rings
Visa International, a worldwide partner of the Olympic Games, sends its retail customers a variety of materials to encourage Olympic-themed promotions. These four-page newsletters reported on member banks' activities during the 1998 Nagano Games and publicized Visa's Sydney 2000 marketing efforts. Wordworking provided all the copy.

Furry "Ambassador" Will Connect Brazil and Australia
All over the world, people recognize the tree-dwelling koala as a symbol of Australia. Thanks to Brazilian Member banks, the furry marsupial will soon become an official Australian "delegate" at the Sao Paulo Zoo a well. In early 1999 the zoo will adopt a koala from Australia; as part of its Sydney 2000 Olympic sponsorship program, Visa Brazil will make a donation to the zoo to cover the animal's food, housing, and medical care.

Elsewhere in the region:
ï The Visa 2000 Olympic Games Graphic Standards Manual and Marketing Brochure were translated into Spanish and Portuguese and will be distributed to Members during the first quarter of 1999.
;ï Regional Olympic activities will be launched at the Regional Member Meeting in New Orleans in March 1999.
;ï Several LAC countries plan to participate in the Visa Olympics of the Imagination program.
ï Planning for local athlete-sponsorship programs is in progress.
